Why Stay At Rendezvous
Framed by sugary palm-fringed Malabar Beach, this boutique all-inclusive resort is a couples-only haven.
Nestled among lush tropical gardens, Rendezvous is a peaceful couples' escape on St. Lucia's northwestern shore. Settle on the blue-cushioned steamer chairs that line the sun deck, or retreat to loungers scattered around the meandering free-form pool. Each of the 100 rooms is furnished colonial-style with mahogany carved four-poster beds, teak patio furniture and bearing personal touches like conch shells gathered from the pristine 2-mile stretch of beach fronting the resort. Among the mod cons are air conditioning and iPod docking stations, but there are no TVs so as not to take away from the romance. Rendezvous offers unlimited complimentary tennis sessions with the resort's pro and most water and land sports (ranging from windsurfing to archery lessons) are included. Unwinding in pairs is key, though, so go for an open-air couples massage at the resident spa or arrange for a romantic candlelight dinner directly on the beach. If you are in for company while feasting, the resort's two restaurants and nightly entertainment can fill the void.
No such thing as last call at the Champagne Bar: Sip bubbly until you are good and ready to leave.
No PADI certification but ready to Scuba? Try the two-hour class that brings you up close and personal with St. Lucia's gorgeous reef at a comfortable 40-foot depth.
Arrive at Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), which is approximately 30 miles (1.5 hours) from the hotel.Malabar Beach, P.O. Box 190, Castries, Castries Quarter, Saint Lucia

Why We Love Castries
The island's capital is replete with all the essential ingredients to a Caribbean vacation such as balmy weather, turquoise seas and stunningly verdant surroundings teeming with animal life.
Reduit Beach Avenue, Rodney Bay Village, Gros Islet.
Where to Drink: The hottest of-the-moment place for a cultured tipple is chic Delirius. The trendy new bar is home to the Caribbean Bartender of the year. Patrons enjoy ocean breezes and live music while sipping on deceptively smooth but potent drinks like La Bwadenn Kwéyòl made with three types of rum, bay leaf, cinnamon and honey. Drinks for two EC$45.
Rodney Bay Village, Gros Islet, St. Lucia.
Best Day Trip: Pay a visit to Pigeon Island National Park to get a sense of St. Lucia's military history. Ruins of military forts and barracks from 18th-century English and French armies battling over the island still litter the 44-acre islet. Swim or snorkel in the calm waters by one of the two calm beaches.
Outdoor Excursion: Step out of your comfort zone and zoom 150 feet above the lush rainforest canopy. Treetop Adventure Park wows you with a dozen zip-lines; among them the island's longest and highest. $59 per adult.
