Why Stay At Fishing Lodge Cap Cana
The all-inclusive Fishing Lodge Cap Cana, in the Dominican Republic, prides itself on both beauty and convenience, from the resort's village-like set up to the tropical lagoon right outside its front door.
On the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, the Fishing Lodge is part of the 30,000-acre Cap Cana resort. Designed as a sort of mock village, Cap Cana is awash in tropical-colored streetscapes and plazas and stone-tile shops; there's an outdoor amphitheater and even a chapel. As such, the 298 breezy suites and villas are intended to feel like houses—each with a separate living area decked out in custom-made furniture, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private patio or balcony. For those who care to dine out, there's the Mediterranean-themed Bistro or the buffet-style Salamander Grille. Later, cool off with a drink at the stylish Bistrot Bar or Mansito Bar & Lounge. Three pools and a large lagoon at the center of the resort offer another kind of cool comfort, but the scene stealer is the sugar-sand beach just next door.
Rent a car to access the wider resort area. The most popular are electric and available via the hotel's concierge or at a depot next the marina.
Head west along the Great Ecological Trail for a dip in hoyo azul, (the blue hole), a natural pool cut deeply into the rocks of the tropical reserve.
Arrive at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) which is approximately 11 miles from the resort. Anticipate about 30 minutes of travel time.Cap Cana, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Why We Love Punta Cana
Designed as the ultimate Caribbean wonderland, the 30,000-acre resort honors the luxury beach lifestyle with a full roster of water sports and five miles of white sand. Further inland, there are pristine forests, rivers, and waterfalls to explore.

Tee Time: The best golf greens in the Caribbean are the Jack Nicklaus-designed links in Punta Espada, where 18 holes are set on rocky bluffs against the sweeping backdrop of the sea.
Where to Eat: Perched on stilts above the Caribbean Sea, Sanctuary Resort's Blue Marlin restaurant serves fresh fish and seafood caught daily by the staff.
Playa Juanillo, Punta Cana
Where to Drink: Also in Sanctuary, the atmospheric Love Bar looks like a Spanish colonial church and hosts nightly performances centered on its baby grand piano. Order a cocktail mixed with Mama Juana, the Dominican national spirit made with red wine, honey, tree bark, and herbs.
