Why Stay At Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa
This cottage-style resort in northwest Michigan is ideal for outdoorsmen: there's cross-country and downhill skiing, and, in the summer months, a one-acre outdoor water park.
Evoking the spirit of Northern Michigan's traditional vacation cottages, Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa dates back to 1956, when a group of locals moved in and cleared the slopes of Buck Hills for skiing. Now, the sprawling hotel—with 92 rooms and suites, 87 condos, and 78 townhomes and cottages—is a 1,500-acre all-seasons resort, complete with downhill ski runs, miles of cross-country trails, two golf courses, and a one-acre outdoor water park. It's a great choice any time of year, but winter is ideal: many of the spacious accommodations, inspired by early 1900's Arts and Crafts bungalows, are furnished with cozy, primed-for-cold-weather amenities, such as whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces.
The mountain's best skiing conditions are on Crystal Mountain's North Face. Head out at the 10 a.m. for unbeatable first tracks.
Arrive at least half an hour early to appointments at the Crystal Spa for access to the eucalyptus steam room, infrared sauna, and private outdoor hot tub.
Arrive at Manistee County-Blacker Airport (MBL) which is approximately 22 miles from the resort. Anticipate about 30 minutes of travel time.12500 Crystal Mountain Dr., Thompsonville, Michigan, United States
