Tamarind Beach Hotel & Yacht Club

Why Stay At Tamarind Beach Hotel & Yacht Club
A thatched-roof, waterfront escape on Canouan, a pristine island south of Mustique in the Grenadines.
Canouan, a five-square-mile island in the Grenadine archipelago, may be one of the lesser known islands in the Caribbean, but its Tamarind Beach Hotel & Yacht Club has a white-sand beach as beautiful as any you'll find on any better-known neighboring isles. Each of the hotel's 32 rooms and eight suites take advantage of the castaway scene: all are mere steps from the water, and private balconies and patios face the sea. Fuel up for a snorkeling or kayak excursion with a grill-fired pizza from the hotel's thatched-roof Pirate Cove restaurant, or grab a club sandwich from the beach bar and head to the private jetty for a boat tour to some of Caribbean's most secluded dive spots.
Stroll past the Pirate Cove Bar and you'll find the Canouan Dive Center, the place to arrange most water activities.
Arrange for a complimentary 90-minute tour of the island with the hotel driver, and you'll visit Canouan's many beaches, coves, and secluded bays.
Arrive at Canouan Airport (CIW) which is approximate 1.5 miles from the hotel. Anticipate about 10 minutes of travel time.Canouan Islands, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines

Why We Love Canouan Island
Set between St. Vincent and Grenada, in the southeastern corner of the Caribbean, Canouan is a five-square-mile island with a small airport, plenty of snorkeling activities, and the towering Mount Royal for great hiking trails.
Tours for two $220.
Top Picnic Spot: Take the 90-minute hike from the hotel to the summit of Mount Royal, the highest point on the island. The panoramic views span from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and on a clear day, straight north to St. Lucia.
Where to Eat: Grab a seat on the bay-facing patio of R&C Restaurant and Bar for a serving of the local rotis—a traditional dinner with curried meat and potatoes served burrito-style in roti bread.
Dinner for two $30.
Where to Drink: Silver Lining Restaurant serves Sunset Very Strong Rum from St. Vincent Distillers. Be forewarned: the liquor is stiff. It's 84.5% alcohol by volume.
Drinks for two $15.
