Why Stay At Hotel El Ganzo
A hip, adult-only outpost on an unspoiled tract outside of San José del Cabo, El Ganzo brings contemporary art and music into the hotel experience.
Opened in fall 2012, El Ganzo is an urban-style loft hotel without the urban: the three-story, 72-room hotel overlooks a gorgeous marina on the Sea of Cortez, less than three hours from Los Angeles. All white on the outside, there's a serene vibe here, with cushioned day beds set up by the two marina-side pools, plus three farm-to-table restaurants and a rooftop sushi bar serving fish caught nearby. Inside, there are rotating art exhibits by the hotel's artists in residence, plus an underground studio where musicians like Damien Rice and Slash have recorded before performing at late-night fireside jams on the patio. Whitewashed guestrooms feature custom wooden furniture and iPads, and some have balconies with private hot tubs. A weekly art-house film screening, weekend DJ parties, a full-service spa, and access to a Jack Nicklaus golf course ensure guests never lack entertainment.
Complimentary bikes, kayaks, and paddleboards are available upon request (advance reservations suggested).
A hotel water shuttle (complete with driver) is available to transport guests to the hotel's private beach.
Arrive at Los Cabos Airport (SJD) which is approximately 10 miles from the hotel. Anticipate about 25 minutes of travel time.Blvd. Tiburon (sin numero), La Playita, San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico

Why We Love San José del Cabo
Located on the tip of the Baja Peninsula, San José del Cabo offers a nature-oriented alternative to party-centric Cabo San Lucas. Spend the day kayaking in a sheltered bay or lounging on a private beach, enjoying the low-key atmosphere in peace and quiet.
Las Animas Bajas.
Pizza for two $20.
Where to Drink: With seven house brews and seasonal additions, Baja Brewing Company (about 10 minutes from the hotel) is the best place to try a local cerveza, such as the Baja Blond, brewed on site.
Morelos 1227 Centro.
Drinks for two $7.
Best Water Sports: The Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park (about 1 hour, 45 minutes from the hotel) is home to the biggest variety of underwater life in the area. Kayak in the bay then stop to snorkel. $54 per person includes hotel pick up, sit-on-top kayak rental and equipment, a three-hour tour, snorkeling gear, lunch, beverages, and snacks.
Best Day Trip: Explore the Baja desert in a 4 x 4 then switch to a camel ride along a private beach. Cabo Adventures offers some of the most unique ways to see the local terrain.
$99 for adults includes three-hour camel and 4 x 4 tour, plus a lunch at a local ranch, water, beer, and tequila (trip departs from the Dolphin Center in Cabo San Lucas, 30 minutes from the hotel).
